Best Retroarch Mupen64 Settings

Best N64 Emulator for Windows in 2020:

@hansolo77 the default settings:) i know this seems a bit boring, but for the most part if there's a setting that gives an improvement, it will have already been made the default. The best thing you can do is keep your emulators updated, as improvements (especially with N64) are constantly being made. Using the Mupen64Plus-Glid64 emulator, as a standalone, I was seeing pretty close to. GlideN64 is the best renderer, but unless you have a beefy phone you'll probably want to stick to the 'medium' or lower. Also, some games will benefit from changing the 'cycles per count' setting (I think that's the name, at the bottom of the 'advanced settings') between 0, 1, and 2. Alright so I just installed RetroArch's NSP and started up Mario 64. There's still a noticeable amount of lag and when I checked the Overclock settings it was already at max performance. I must be missing something. Using the Mupen64 Plus core btw not the Mupen64 Plus Next. Not sure if that makes a difference. Personally I don't recommend using the Retroarch core, I use a mix of PJ64 and stand alone Mupen64plus on a game by game basis. N64 emulation is in a not so good state and needs a lot more work, a lot of individual tweaking per game with it.
